Last week, I suffered my first 'losing' week, going 6-7 in my picks, though, if I had to make those same picks again, I would.
C'mon now, who correctly picked Tampa Bay to upset Cincinnati ? Anyone ?
How about Tennessee over Washington ?
My yearly win-loss total to date now stands at 55-32.
I love field goal kickers and as a general rule of thumb I root for them to make all their field goals regardless of which team they play for, but as the Arizona Cardinals' Neil Rackers was lining up to hit the game winning 40 yarder to beat the Chicago Bears last Monday nite, I admit I was yelling 'wide right, buddy, wide right !" at my television screen.
I had the Bears picked to win---as did everyone else on the western hemisphere---and a Cards upset would have dropped me to a humiliating 5-8 for the weekend.
As I always state, I'm picking straight 'win' or 'lose,' rather than the point spread. I show the point spread merely for fun.
My picks to win are in bold.
San Diego 5 at Kansas City
Jacksonville * No Line at Houston
New England 5 1/2 at Buffalo
Pittsburgh 2 1/2 at Atlanta
at Miami 5 1/2 Green Bay
Philadelphia 5 1/2 at Tampa Bay
at N.Y. Jets 3 1/2 Detroit
at Cincinnati 3 Carolina
Denver 5 at Cleveland
at Indianapolis 8 Washington
at Seattle 6 1/2 Minnesota
Arizona 3 Oakland
Monday nite
at Dallas 3 1/2 N.Y. Giants
* "No line" given for game due to questionable injury status of Jacksonville QB Byron Leftwich
It is a "Bye" week for St. Louis, Chicago, Tennessee, Baltimore, San Francisco, and New Orleans.
